Exhibition: Anna Binkunska

Contemporary folk artist Anna Binkunska is the focus of this month's exhibition at the Ethnographic museum. She was not a technically skilled professional painter, but rather a passionate amateur who used her brush to record her childhood memories. Images of the residents of her hometown - a village near Lublin - including Poles, Jews, and Roma, populate her paintings. Heritage, nature, and community are strong themes that come through in these sincere and unpretentious works of art, as if seen through the eyes of a child.
