Polish sculptor Krysztof Bednarski is the focus of this new exhibition at the National Museum, and specifically his works from between 1978 and 2009. Among his most significant works on display are Thanatos polski (Polish Thanatos), Thanatos of course being the Greek mythological personification of death. This sculture was dedicated to the members of the Teatr Laboratorium (Laboratory Theatre) who have passed away. Another highlight is Trawa tylko trwa (roughly translated, Only the Grass Lasts) which consists of twelve boxes filled with peat from which barbed wire emerges.
