American artist Jana Napoli is the focus of this new exhibition at the National Museum, and in particular, one work of hers, an installation lending its name to the exhibitions title Floodwall. This piece if dedicated to the tragic events of 29 August 2005, when hurricane Katrina swept through New Orleans displacing 1.3 million people. The installation is comprised of 350 drawers, which as the artist explains are simultaneously full and empty... they are filled with the memory of time and place.
