Following the recent Japanese Metalwork exhibition at the National Museum, this particular show focuses on one specific metal - gold. The use of gold in art in Japan is explored from as far back as the Edo (1603-1867) and Meiji (1868-1912) periods, including images of the Buddha, vases, and kimonos - all decorated with this precious metal. Even modern examples of gold in art is included, with a mouse pad and a phone card both on display.
