To everyone’s surprise, in 1988 golden crown, pins, rings and other medieval valuables of gold and silver were discovered in a city dump in Środa Śląska, where they landed after being excavated during earthworks in the city’s Old Town. The treasure was then salvaged and restored as a museum item. Now this unique collection, most probably a bank deposit of the Luxemburg family from the times of Charles the Fourth is available at the exhibition at the National Museum in Wroclaw.
