Wroclaw Student Crowned Miss Poland
A 21-year-old student at Wroclaw's School of Banking has been crowned Miss Polski (Miss Poland) at a ceremony in the town of Plock. Agata Szewiola, originally from the town of Zar near Lublin, competed against 23 other hopefuls at the finals on Sunday 29 August.
A 10-member jury, which included organizer Gerhard Parzutka von Lipinski and last year's Miss Poland winner Anna Jamroz, chose Szewiola for top honours. Runners up were Anna Wierzbicka, Joanna Kusiak, Agnieszka Ptak, and Edyta Hreczuk who also, by popular internet vote, was crowned Miss Internet.
Szewiola, whose top place in the Poland competition won her a car, will continue on to compete at the Miss World competition later this year in China.
