Enterprising Art Student Does A Banksy
A student of Wroclaw's Academy of Art and Design recently hung up one of his own paintings at the city's National Museum, echoing a similar move by Bansky. The famous British artist secretly placed his own subversive art in the Tate and the Louvre.
The Wroclaw art student, Andrzej Sobiepan's painting managed to hang in the museum for three days before staff took notice. He is quoted in the Warsaw Business Journal as deciding to do it because he did not want to "wait 30 or 40 years" before his work would hang in such a museum.
However, instead of getting into any trouble, the artist's painting was replaced on the museum's walls and will be auctioned for charity this month.
