Wroclaw Philharmonic Tours America
Wroclaw's Philharmonic Orchestra is currently on tour in America, visiting fifteen cities across the country throughout the month of February. Some of the states the orchestra will visit on its route include Arizona, California, Illinois, South Carolina, as well as seven concerts across Florida.
Joining the Philharmonic in its performances will be pianist Garrick Ohlsson, who was the first American to win the prestigious International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw in 1970. Since then, Ohisson has become an internationally celebrated pianist and continues to perform and record works by the Polish composer.
The Wroclaw Philharmonic with Garrick Ohisson will perform the following works: Chopin's Piano Concerto no. 2 in F-minor, Szymanowski's Concert Overture, Lutoslawski's Little Suite, Beethoven's Piano Concerto No.4 in G-major, Dvorak's Cello Concerto in B-minor and his Symphony No.7 in D-minor, as well as Brahms' Piano Quartet in G-minor arranged for orchestra by Schoenberg.
