New Horizons Underway in Wroclaw
Polands biggest film festival and certainly one of Wroclaws annual cultural highlights - the T-Mobile New Horizons international film festival - is now underway across the city. Currently in its 12th edition, the film festival will screen some 500 films from across the world, including 160 Polish premieres.
Among the festivals highlights are screenings of Love by Michael Haneke, which won the Palme dOr at Cannes 2012. Also much anticipated is the Polish premiere of The Artist Is Present, a film documentary about the worlds foremost performance artist Marina Abramovic.
Scheduled for this years edition are retrospectives of celebrated filmmakers, themed sections such as Mockumentaries and Mexican Cinema, as well as the participants of the festivals competitions. The winner of the coveted New Horizons International Competition, selected from amongst 14 Polish premieres, will walk away with the Grand Prix - and an award of 20 000 euro.
T-Mobile New Horizons will continue until 29 July.
