Let's face it the modern-day traveller can't get by without the internet. How else can he (or she) brag to all his (or her) mates, stuck back home in the office, about the wild time they are having? Thousands upon thousands of almost entirely fictitious stories have been spun from computer terminals around the world, invariably involving some or all of the following ingredients: fit girls, super-strong narcotics, wild police chases, mafia bosses, Chinese faith healers, Thai prostitutes and, in the ladies' case, an Australian surfer called Brad.
