If you're arriving in the city by air, why not start your holiday in style by jumping into an Avis car right at the Wroclaw airport. They're open from six in the morning right through to midnight, seven days a week. If you're already in town, no problem, you can drop by their office at the Scandic Hotel, 49/57 Pilsudskiego, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, to sort yourself out some wheels (give the code "o788355" to get going). Avis have got a great fleet of cars ready to drive away including the Toyota Yaris, Nissan Note and Volvo S40. Book online, or to find out more just go to the site, click 'Display Rental Agreement' and hit 'Ask Avis'. Avis' English language website should be able to answer all your queries and if it can't, you can contact them directly.
And once you're all buckled up and raring to go, Wroclaw and its surroundings are yours to discover. Once you've sampled the delights of the Old Town you could head east of the city to take in the mammoth monuments of Hala Ludowa (People's Hall), an OTT homage to some outlandish Soviet architecture. It's now the site of many a rock concert as well being the place to see in the city's NY eve and certainly makes for a wacky afternoon out.
