Tourism evolves, yet somehow traditional ways of discovering places are still considered the best. Hala Targowa in Wroclaw is the best example of this trend. What could be a better way to hit on the best local products than visiting a market hall run by locals and for locals? The building, designed by Richard Plüdemann, constructed over 100 years ago is a showcase of the city. Hala Targowa could surely be compared to the famous La Boqueria in Barcelona. On the area of over 37 600 sq ft, you’ll find countless booths filled with fresh fruit and veggies, baked goods, local cheeses and preserves. Additionally, the place house many non-food booths like stationery, florist’s, gift and clothing shops. If not fancy making shopping and preparing meals at home, have a seat in one of the small cafes and have a breakfast on the spot. With its bounty of local delicacies, Hala Targowa perfectly fits in the slow food philosophy.
