Editor's review
The Art Pavilion is the oldest exhibition hall in the Slavic South and it was purposely built for the exposition of large-scale representative exhibitions. Though finally completed and opened in 1898, the first possibility of an art-pavilion in Zagreb was roused by plans to celebrate Hungary's millennium (1896). The original iron framework was initially constructed in Hungary before eventually finding its way to its permanent home in Zagreb. Though not exclusively domestic, most of the temporary exhibitions are Croatian and it is the Pavilion's dedication to the celebration of national art that makes it one of Zagreb's most important cultural points of interest.

Well worth visiting. I've been there twice (in 2007 and this year) and the quality of exhibitions is a bit uneven, but you might just see something worthwhile. The building itself is also interesting.
There have been some very interesting temporary exhibitions here, and the permanent exhibition is definitely worth seeing.
The Art Pavilion is a very traditional-style gallery that sometimes offers up very non-traditional works. Worth a visit.
