If you're arriving in Zagreb by air, why not start your holiday in style by jumping into an Avis car right at the airport. They're open from 7 in the morning, right through to 11 in the evening, seven days a week. If you're already in town, no problem, you can drop by their office at Zagreb Bci
Trako` anska 28, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, to sort yourself out some wheels (just give the code "o788355" to get started. Avis have got a great fleet of cars ready to drive away including Opel Corsas, Peugeot 107s and Fiat Bravos. To book online and get driving, or to find out more just go to the site, click 'Display Rental Agreement' and hit 'Ask Avis'. Avis' English language website should be able to answer all your queries and if it can't, you can contact them directly. And once you're all buckled up and raring to go, Zagreb and its surroundings are yours to discover. If you fancy making a splash in the city, why not head down to Jarun Lake, a short drive from the city centre. As well as being a magnate for party-goers in the evening, the beach is a great place to chill anytime with its beaches, man-made lakes and plenty of watersports on offer to keep you moving.

Scam Alert!!! Doubled the price of the car with "mandatory" insurance. Otherwise I would have hold on CC for the full value of car, over 8K USD.
Received a 4 year old car with 115,000+ km, warped brake rotor and poor brakes. Received no answer upon complaint . Stay Away!
Just like GMN says. These people are scamming people big time. Do not rent from them do not sign anything. First they tried to give us a car with a poor clutch. Got back and got a new car but there was an airbag lamp on. Didn't care at first because I thought it was that the passenger airbag was off but after first stop from the airport I realized that's it was fault in the airbag system. Phoned Avis and just laughed and hung up the phone. These people are real scums. Just like GMN they charged 200% because of some extra insurance. Car had already been payed before from home. I've rented many cars from other Avis dealers around the world and there have never been any problem. We have made an police erend of this case. AVIS try hard but these people are reall thieves
DO NOT RENT FROM THESE FOLKS, YOU WILL REGRET IT. CON MAN ALERT. In fact I would not rent from AVIS EUROPE anywhere it is franchisee operated like this one. Company-owned stores are better. When I got back to the USA I found a charge on my credit card that was over 50% higher than the rental quote amount I was given online when I made the reservation on the AVIS reservation site. The agent at the local outlet in Zagreb airport added charges for things I did not even ask for, and misrepresented the cost of insurance, telling me it was 19 euros a day when he was actually charging around 27 euros a day. He also charged me $60 for a sticker needed to drive on highway in neighboring Slovenia when he didn't even give me one - I bought it myself when I crossed the border - for much less! I was expecting a total charge of just over $600, and got over $1,000 on my AMEX bill. DO NOT SIGN THEIR ELECTRONIC SIGNATURE DEVICE - ASK TO SEE THE PRINT OUT (he did not show it, just asked that I sign a device which did not show the itemization). CROOKS
