Old-Style Ski Competition

This highly entertaining event has taken place in Zakopane every Easter Monday for almost twenty years now. You’ll think you’ve travelled back in time 150 years when you see the competitors lining up in traditional Goralski costumes, complete with woolen breeches, petticoats and mountaineers’ hats, and racing on skis that resemble little more than planks of wood strapped to their feet! It’s all done in the spirit of fun and as well as a ‘speed’ contest there’s also a more light-hearted ‘style’ one. The action takes place at the Polana Kalatowki slope, with refreshments at the Kalatowki Hotel.
