The Tatras of Franciszek Wojcik

This show continues the series of exhibitions highlighting artists with roots in Zakopane. Francis Wojcik (1903-1984) was educated at the distinguished Cracow Academy of Fine Arts. He favoured landscape painting, and the museum will be presenting many of his canvases that conjured the Polish Highlands. It's an ideal venue for the show as the museum itself is dedicated to one of Poland's most significant landscape painters, Stanisław Witkiewicz, who went on to create the "Zakopane Style" of architecture, based on folk models.
