The Icon - Mirror of Heaven

This exhibition is the result of journalist and photographer Jolanta Flach's travels in south-eastern Poland, in search of the really soul of the ultimate in religious art - the icon.

Flach's work is heavily inspired by Byzantine works, and uses traditional techniques drawing subject matter from the Eastern Orthodox church.

The motifs and depictions of saints in icons are unique according to where they are made, and Flach's exhibition explores those that emerged from this part of the Polish borderland.
