Hi. Coming to Zakopane in February and staying in an appartment close to the bus station. Can we use local buses to travel out to Harenda, Poronin, Bialka and Bukowina. Are there frequent services? What time do they start in the morning and finish in the evening. How do we identify the right bus. Thanks for any assistance.

Hello, you will have a lot of possibilities to get anywhere you want in and out of Zakopane, as you will be leaving near Zakopane bus station.There are buses run by private companyzolta linia, szwagropol) and public(pks.pl http://www.zdazakopane.pl/rozklad-jazdy/)which may bring you from very early morning to late(from about 7am to 7 pm) anywhere you want.You have to check the bus timetables displayed outside and in front of the Zakopane bus station, and also check the signs displayed in the front windscreen of all buses(private and public) with final destination mentionned and the many stops between .You may pay for the ride when you get in or when you get out from the bus depending on where you go and which company you travelling with.Also you may get in bus with your ski equipment or it has to be loaded in baggage hold or in back rail rack of the bus.Just keep an eye on it to avoid theft or loss.
