Just outside Zakopane with an extensive panorama of the Tatra Mountains, "Olgierdowka" is a truly unique guesthouse. Small (but exclusive as a result), sleeping 8 persons in total, it's a great base for both connoisseurs of the region and guests looking for a roomy, secluded stay at an affordable price. It has large, warm rooms with beautiful views, excellent home cooking... and wonderful English-speaking hosts. Nestled among trees in a sunny clearing, "Olgierdowka" is far removed from the noise and pollution of Zakopane, out of the mainstream yet close to shopping and town. Prices range from Euro 30-40 p/room out of season to Euro 40-60 in high season, b/fast and dinners extra (Euro 5-10). On arrival we were welcomed by Ollie who showed us to our spacious comfortable room with wonderful views of the Tatras mountains. It was great to be able to ask questions about Poland and the local sights. Breakfast was excellent with free range eggs and home made jam.
What a great stay we had at Olgierdowka. Wonderful home cooked breakfasts and superb views from the bedroom over the mountains. It was good to be staying a little outside of Zakopane (about 10-15 mins) as it was so busy - it was a welcome relief to have some peace & quiet & tranquility.
