Peak time travel

Tourists in Zakopane could soon have a new way of getting around - as business leaders in the mountain capital are pushing for the city to launch its own bus service. The plan will be presented to the Mayor of Zakopane, Janusz Majcher, in a bid to standardise public transport for residents and visitors. Most people without cars currently have to rely on a number of private firms which supply bus services. The new city bus, organised along the lines of big sister Krakow's MPK system, would ply the most popular routes but would also be big enough to be able to provide a service to less-frequented areas that are currently unattractive to the private firms. According to Agata Wojtowicz, chairwoman of the Tatra Chamber of Commerce, the only major hurdle to be overcome would be to find a suitable site for a bus depot.
