Shes coming round the mountain
Its been a long time since the men serving in the TOPR the Tatra Mountain Rescue Service have had to worry about putting the toilet seat down. For 30 years, the organisation has been a men-only environment, with some considering rescue work in the tough mountain environment around Zakopane to be no job for a lady. That, however, is about to change, after the management board of the rescue service voted to admit a woman to their ranks. The candidate, who has not been named, received formal notification that her application had been successful, following open and frank discussion at a meeting of the board. No further details have been released but it is understood that the decision to admit her to the voluntary service was not unanimous.
