What is the riddle of the Sphinx's success? It certainly has been a runaway hit, with branches popping up across Poland, and they seem to be popular with both Poles and foreigners alike. Perhaps there's no surprise that tasty as Polish food is, variety is the spice of life. And that means chomping a plate of chips and kebab once in a while. Zakopane's Sphinx carries their hallmark exotic interior, a sort of updated Indiana Jones vibe where you half expect a monkey to come leaping over your shoulder. Diners can tuck into a range of steaks, cutlets and kebabs, generally served with a large portion of chips. Wash it all down with some Okocim Polish beer.

Awful place. Like many chains, food is deep fried and very very bland. I can't imagine there could be a worse place in zakopane. We were in a rush and it was the first place we noticed. Irony is we waited over an hour for food. We ordered an apple juice for our 4 year old and the astute waiter brought him half a litre!
We know this type of restaurant from Slovakia, Kosice. We love it. I´m really happy that this restaurant is also in Zakopane. We are going to Zakopane in june 2011, can´t wait.:)
Bad choice. Yesterday I've waited for 20 minutes to be noticed by any waiter. Then, the waiter was very arrogant and gave me change from the bill - 20 z³ - in coins!
Food was good, but the service was the worst I have ever experienced. Waiters were behind the Bar and ignoring the Clients, about 4 couples including us had to get up and ask for things more then once... One was doing crosswords and the other was reading a magazine... Very poor... I wrote to there head Offices but was ignored..I will NOT be going there again, and I have been 9 times to Poland... Tony.....
fabulous atmosphere to dine in, service can be better as what was on the menu was not all available. Will be back though.
