Editor's review
Mwanga Lodge is a very special place - a game reserve not far from Harare where you can really escape the hustle of the city and recharge your batteries in beautiful and peaceful surroundings. Founded by Kathie and the late and much respected Robin McIntosh, Mwanga Lodge is adjacent to the famous Bally Vaughan Sanctuary, where orphaned, rescued or otherwise in distress animals are cared for, with the generous support of visitors and local businesses. Mwanga Lodge itself is set in rolling countryside interspersed with striking granite outcrops, and is comprised of comfortable lodges under thatch, and a central dining and rest area. Time spent at Mwanga typically involves game drives and walks, interspersed with wonderful meals and great conversations both with other guests and Mwanga's hosts - Gordon and Debbie Putterill. Both Gordon and Debbie have dedicated their lives to animal welfare and conservation, Gordon having served for over 20 years as a Warden for The National Parks Service of Zimbabwe.
